National audienceThe field of Brassempouy is situated in the south of the Landes departement, two kilometres away from the village and forty kilometres south-east of Mont-de-Marsan in Chalosse. It holds several cavities (cave of the Pope, cave of the Hyenas, Dubalen gallery, Megaceros gallery) which belong to a complex karstic network, dug in a limestone formation of the Eocene, a few metres bellow the natural soil.

Rational Solutions of the Painleve' VI Equation

In this paper, we classify all values of the parameters α\alpha, β\beta, γ\gamma and δ\delta of the Painlev\'e VI equation such that there are rational solutions. We give a formula for them up to the birational canonical transformations and the symmetries of the Painlev\'e VI equation.Comment: 13 pages, 1 Postscript figure Typos fixe

Using Scenarios to Validate Requirements through the use of Eye-Tracking in Prototyping

    Get PDF
Research has shown that eliciting and capturing the correct behavior of systems reduces the number of defects that a system contains. A requirements engineer will model the functions of the system to gain a comprehensive understanding of the system in question. Engineers must verify the model for correctness by either having another engineer review it or build a prototype and validate with a stakeholder. However, research has shown that this form of verification can be ineffective because looking at an existing model can be suggestive and stump the development of new ideas. This paper provides an automated technique that can be used as an unbiased review of use case scenarios. Using the prototype and a scenario, a stakeholder can be guided through the use case scenario demonstrating where they expect to find the next step while their eye movements are tracked. Analysis of the eye tracking data can be used to identify missing requirements such as interaction steps that should have alternative sequences or determining problems with the flow of actions

Higher Order Quantum Superintegrability: a new "Painlev\'e conjecture"

We review recent results on superintegrable quantum systems in a two-dimensional Euclidean space with the following properties. They are integrable because they allow the separation of variables in Cartesian coordinates and hence allow a specific integral of motion that is a second order polynomial in the momenta. Moreover, they are superintegrable because they allow an additional integral of order N>2N>2. Two types of such superintegrable potentials exist. The first type consists of "standard potentials" that satisfy linear differential equations. The second type consists of "exotic potentials" that satisfy nonlinear equations. For N=3N= 3, 4 and 5 these equations have the Painlev\'e property. We conjecture that this is true for all N≥3N\geq3. The two integrals X and Y commute with the Hamiltonian, but not with each other. Together they generate a polynomial algebra (for any NN) of integrals of motion. We show how this algebra can be used to calculate the energy spectrum and the wave functions.Comment: 23 pages, submitted as a contribution to the monographic volume "Integrability, Supersymmetry and Coherent States", a volume in honour of Professor V\'eronique Hussin. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1703.0975

    Reception Studies and Audiovisual Translation

    No full text
Audiovisual texts, in their original and translated versions, are created for multifarious audiences. There are often extremely difficult to define, due to their varying size and composition, as well as to their intrinsic dynamism. The complexity of such audiences, however, does not justify the widespread lack of attention from the research community, especially within the field of audiovisual translation. To date, no thematic volume has offered a comprehensive study of reception in audiovisual translation, in theoretical, methodological and/or empirical terms. This volume wishes to fill this void by providing a thorough overview of the many opportunities offered to the audiovisual translation researcher and practitioner when reception is brought into the picture. Organized in four sections, the volume focuses on methodology and research from a diachronic as well as synchronic perspective. It aims to discuss all research methods and tools which have been, are being, and might be used for the enhancement of reception studies in audiovisual translation
